So I qualify for a new phone in a week and I'm really excited. I haven't ever bought a nice phone. Or a semi-nice phone. I just always get the cheapest one. I decided I'm going to get the Blackberry Curve. I knew I didn't want a flip phone this time so this is what the one I picked. Yipee!

I Guess It's My Turn

Up until now Emily has been the one who has diligently updated the blog and kept me informed about the latest posts on others' blogs. But now I've decided to step up to the plate and post something.

Many of you might be aware I just finished the Accounting Jr. Core at BYU and have been waiting to hear whether I was accepted into BYU's masters program . Each year they accept about 160 students into the masters program, 60 into the tax stem and 100 into professional stem. This year over 170 applied to the professional stem, I being one of them. Last week I found out that I was not one of the lucky 100.

I was a little surprised I wasn't more disappointed about not being accepted. I was hoping to finish school in two more years, but don't think that will happen now. Since finding about not being accepted I have been thinking about my options and think I might finish my undergrad and then get an MBA. I haven't looked into specifics, but I think that's what I'll end up doing, only time will tell.

And the winner is....

Mary Seavers for Best Mom in the World!!!

My mom is seriously the best mom in the world. I know some of you may want to argue with that, but it's true. I think mothers deserve recognition and appreciation year round, but especially on Mother's Day. My mom has always been there for me and has been a great teacher. My mom is full of love and beauty. She is gentle, yet strong. She is patient and has many ways of showing me she cares. My mom is dependable and a great comforter. I know that I could go on forever telling you about my mother's good qualities and I love her more than I can express.
Some of life's greatest lessons I've learned from her and my dad. Lots of those things I learned when she wasn't teaching me directly. My mom is a great example to me . I learned the importance of conversing with our Heavenly Father when seeing her on her knees. I learned a lot about service by watching my mom help those around her. She opened her arms and offered love and charity to strangers and friends and offered her time and home numerous times to family.
I'm not sure how my mom found the time and energy to do all the things she did, raise 6 kids and work. She is more than just a mom. She is a chauffeur, cook and friend, nurse, counselor, and playmate. She's very musically talented and I love to hear her sing and play the piano. She is smart and so goofy and I realize this more and more as I get older. She never let us kids get bored. When I was younger I'd tell her I was bored she'd come up with the craziest solutions. She'd say, "Go build an opsticle course," "Create a new laugh, " "Build a fort, " or "Start a new trend," amoungst other things. I followed her advice a few years ago and decided to start a new trend. One day, as I was bored, I wore my pants backwards. I'm not really sure why this trend didn't stick.
I really hope my mom has an awesome Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to you, Mom. If any mom deserves it, you do!

Cause we're movin on up...to the east side...

Well...only just like 100 yards down the street. We're way excited and so ready (mentally) to get out of this apt! We still have a lot to move and then there's always the fun cleaning to do, but we have until Saturday to get it all done. Hurray!!! I know some of you have already seen it, but I'll have to put some pictures up once we're all settled.

HELP PLEASE!

So...I messed up! I was trying to create a cute new background for our blog and somehow, in the process, it deleted all the links to our friends' blogs. I don't know how I did it, but can you please comment with a link to your blogs?

So, those who are blog-background savvy...will you let me in our your secrets? Where do you find your cute blog backgrounds? I found some places, but I couldn't seem to find any that had the "New Post | Customize | Sign Out" buttons at the top. If I put in the html codes I found, it didn't have those buttons on top so I couldn't update our blog. Has anyone had this problem too? Do you have to add the html for those buttons later? I know I probably sound silly, but I have no clue what I'm doing.
