1, 2, 3, 4...

1.  The outfits are up for voting on my fashion blog.  Go ahead and visit HERE.

2.  I just watched Julie and Julia...cute movie... and now I want to cook more new recipes and own a pearl necklace.

3. Danica turns 6 months old on Tuesday.  Car-razy!

4.  ALSO, a couple of us are getting together this Thursday evening at 4:00 to make bows and flowers for headbands/hair.  You're invited, so if you'd like to join in, let me know.  It'll be fun!
We were thinking that each person could bring their own supplies, and if you feel like it (no obligations though) we could trade or share.
These would be the basic supplies you'd want to bring:
*artificial flowers (I buy mine at the Dollar Store or Honks, but you can buy them at any craft store)
*hair clips (there are many kinds you can use.  I use THESE and you can buy 100 for $5 at Sally's.  They also have smaller packages though.)
*ribbon... if you want to make bows.
*ribbon... if you want to cover your clips.  (I cover my clips with ribbon that is 1/2" and I believe it takes about 8 or 9 inches to cover the inside and outside of each clip)
*If you want to bring decorative embellishments... like jewels or buttons
*Another option is felt.  You can make some cute flowers out of that.
*If you have a glue gun, you can bring that as well.
And I believe that's it!  Let me know if you want to come.

A packed closet.....

but I've got nothing to wear!
Ok, that's not true.

But some days it feels like that.
I had days like this before having a baby... but now I notice my clothes just fit me differently, and I don't like it.
I don't have too much to spend,
but I feel like I basically need to start all over.
Help please.
What are some of your favorite pieces to wear?
Tops, pants, shoes, jewelry?
Favorite anything... whether it be your basic staples or not.
Also, since having a baby, I don't get out much.  I don't really know what's in style.  I feel out of touch  (not that I was really in touch with fashion before).  Any pieces you wish you had?

Oh, don't you wish you had your own styling consultant?!  I feel like I'm in a rut most days.  Some of my clothes still fit me, so it'd be nice to just post pictures of all of them somewhere and have someone else figure out how I should piece them together or what kind of accessory to add to the outfit.
That sure would make dressing easier!

F is for...

 FOOD
Danica had her first taste of baby food (besides rice cereal) on Sunday. It was peas!  Both Tyler and I don't like peas, but it's hard to tell if Danica feels the same way.
I think it was just a different experience for her.

 FASHION
Adrien's outfit won on my fashion blog HERE.

 FREE TIME (What is that?)
My sister Eileen is pregnant with her first baby (a girl!!) and I've been planning her baby shower.  So that's basically just what I've been working on in my free time.

 FABRIC
But as soon as that's done, I'm going to be making another one of these (or more) for my sister Anna.

 FUN
And maybe taking a ride on this!

Oh my!

Danica just slept 11 1/2 hours straight!!
She didn't fuss at all last night!  So wonderful.  I hope it continues.
I woke up twice last night on my own and had to check on her.  I couldn't believe it. Yay!

The outfits are up. HERE.  Go vote for your favorite.

Remember when...

...I raved about Danica being a great sleeper?
Well, she still sleeps for 11 hours, eats, then sleeps for an hour or two more.
But...
During those 11 hours, she wakes me up about a dozen times!  Sometimes she's awake and sometimes she's kind of just whining in her sleep.  Ahh!  I've been going insane during the nights.
My nights have been basically no sleep at all.
Saturday night I got 4 hours of sleep total... 2 in the beginning of the night and 2 in the end.
Sunday night I woke up 18 times with her.
I've been advised 100 times to turn off the monitors and let her cry it out... a lot of those times by Tyler.  But it's easier said than done to begin that.  I do wish we started sooner, though, because Danica's very mobile now.  When she's awake in her crib she moves a lot; going from the bottom of the crib to the top, to laying where her feet are supposed to be, to trying to roll onto her stomach and flopping back over.  I think that keeps her up.
Yesterday, my friend Brittany and I were talking about it and she was told (when she was avoiding starting this with her daughter) that she's depriving her daughter the chance to learn how to soothe herself to sleep.
Gulp.  Talk about feeling guilty!

Last night we decided to try the "Cry it out" Method.
If you want to hear how our night went... keep reading.
She woke up about 40 minutes after we put her down for the night (which has been pretty normal lately).  She whined for 10ish minutes.  Then the crying began!  It took her about 25 minutes to fall asleep.  Which is pretty nice, compared to what I've heard other moms had to deal with.  (Dealing with the crying...for the most part... wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  There were some cries, though, that were SO sad.)  She was asleep for 5 minutes and then started crying again.  But that cry was only 2 minutes and then she slept.  Until 3!
I couldn't believe it when I woke up and looked at the clock.
She woke up and whined for a while.  From the hard crying to sound sleep was 15 minutes.  I thought that this method was beginning to work!  I checked on her and noticed her blanket was over her face and she was also laying horizontally in her crib, but I wasn't about to move her.  Taking the blanket off her face though, woke her up.  I then decided to feed her (at 4:30) since she was already awake.  With a little crying, she was asleep by 5 and woke up for the day at 7:30.
She's in her second nap today and each time she has spent less than 10 minutes crying before she falls asleep.  This makes me so happy!  She's probably exhausted from last night, too, because of all the crying.
I've started to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to her to add to her routine before naptime or bedtime, and I think that seems to help.
We noticed that when we tried the method of crying it out and would also go in every so often to calm and comfort her, it just made matters worse.  I've heard it work for other moms, but Danica would just get more worked up when we wouldn't pick her up or when we'd walk out of the room.  It was better when we didn't go in.
I know this method isn't for everyone, but it seems to be working for us.
Granted this is just the beginning of day 2, so we'll see.

Also... if you're wanting to submit an outfit to THIS BLOG, put your outfit together fast and email it to challengefashion@gmail.com.
This challenge ends tonight at midnight!

What to do...

I just counted 24 things in my "CRAFTS To Do" Bookmark folder; most of them being jewelry.  Guess I better start getting busy! (especially because the list just keeps getting longer and longer!)

I'm recording this here on the blog, as motivation, so I can get them complete.  It's fun to have a hobby!
**Remember that I just got a Cricut for Christmas.  I may be a little busy with that for a while.  Not to mention taking care of little Danica every day.

But bug me if I'm not posting pictures of my crafts.

A couple videos from Christmas

I gave Danica a bottle to play with and this is what she did with it.

My brothers are amazing and can play the piano really well without any music.  They just sit down and play whatever.  This is my brother Brent playing the piano. He was playing Christmas songs and mixing them with other songs.  He's playing Zelda in the beginning, but I'm not sure what Christmas song he was playing it with.  Then he played jingle bells mixed with Mario.  I thought it was cool that he came up with that.

Vacation, all I ever wanted

We spent 2 joyous weeks in CA with my family for Christmas.
All of my siblings were there (which is rare) to celebrate Christmas and my dad's 60th together.
Here are a BUNCH of pictures from our vacation.
Plus a picture of my boots at the bottom that some of you had been asking about

On our way to Sizzler for my Dad's b-day

My dad has food in his mouth

So my brother, Jordan, came out randomly dressed like this wizard and FREAKED out all the kids.

It was hilarious!

Danica wasn't fazed though

We visited my friend Sarah and her little family.

Nick and Danica are only 2 weeks apart.

Before we knew it, it was Christmas Eve!

My sister, Laura, got giant underwear for Christmas

Danica's 1st Christmas!

My sister, Eileen, had a baby shower the morning after Christmas

Anna and I were struggling to take pictures that day

My mother and I

All the siblings and my Grandma, celebrating my Grandma's 80th and my Dad's 60th

Kalla celebrated her 10th b-day

Addalie turned 4. We all went ice skating that day to celebrate

The birthday girl with the 5 month old birthday girl...right before we noticed Danica had a very (to say the least) messy diaper

Danica likes to hold her bottles on her own now... she's still learning though.

Here's Keiran sitting in Danica's Bumbo. I kept finding the little boys sitting in it.  They loved it.
They would sit in the room all by themselves enjoying their seat.

We took Danica out to stretch during our trip back to UT and she instantly grabbed the steering wheel.
She drove us the rest of the way home.

Well here are my boots

The pictures stink, but one is dark brown and the other is black

Here's Dani at 5 months... and a couple days.

I just know someone's staring at me

Last night we arrived home from our 2 week Christmas vacation (in lovely CA) to our cold and quiet apartment.  We unpacked a little and ate dinner.  I went to bed about a half hour after Tyler because I was checking my email.  I walked into our room to find Tyler sleeping (and snoring...poor guy's congested) on my side of the bed.  I was really confused and just stood there, staring, wondering why the heck he was sleeping there.  Well, I know my pillow's more comfortable than his....
As I was silently deciding whether I should hop into his side of the bed or not, Tyler suddenly sits up, both of us startled, and groggily says, "I was warming up your spot," then plops over to his side of the bed.  I was taken by surprise and said, "Oh, thanks!"
I walked out of the room and just started laughing.
My husband's awesome.
I thought that was really sweet and thoughtful since I'm basically a human popsicle.

Oh, and the blog is staying Christmas for a while.  The site I normally get my stuff from isn't working (and hasn't for a while) and I don't know how to get rid of this layout completely when I add another a background from another site.
