Challenge

Tyler told me today I have too many clothes.
Say what?
Can a girl have too many clothes?

Well, this may end up being a mistake, but I decided to take on a personal challenge.  I do feel very blessed and don't want this explanation to come across the wrong way... I've been fortunate enough to have a wonderful friend who recently gave me a bunch of clothes.  I've also bought a lot of clothes in the last little bit.  And although I went through my old clothes and gave a lot away not too long ago, I'm finding my closet is pretty full; full of clothes I'm still not wearing much.  Not because I don't like them, but because I get into clothes-moods and wear the same bunch of tops over and over.  I just can't seem to give up on some of those other clothes yet and give them away.

So... my challenge, starting the beginning of the year, is to wear a different top every day without repeating a top until I've worn all of them once.  (If needed, I can repeat pants, accessories, shoes, cardigans, jackets, coats, socks, and underwear... it's mainly just the tops that can't be repeated.)

I'm taking on this challenge to hopefully find out what clothes I actually like and would wear.  If I find I'm not digging them, then I should just give them away.

I've decided to do this with my church attire too... this one might prove to be a little more difficult because I have a million skirts (from way back when) that will need to be worn with a plain top...  and I only have so many of those.  I may have to adjust the rules with those outfits...?  But for sure the skirt/dress will change each Sunday.

In order to keep me accountable, I've decided to take pictures and document them somehow.  I'll let you know how I document, if you're actually interested... maybe on a separate blog.  Even if I don't post every day I'll still be taking pictures every day.  Yikes!  What am I getting myself into?

Alright, for those of you who check my fashion blog, the new fashion item is up now. HERE

I'm very excited about this week, because it's the first week the new rules are being implemented.  Megan has picked a cute dress and a fun theme for us to follow.

For those who have been thinking about joining in on my fashion blog, please feel free to participate.  And don't feel intimidated.  I know nothing about fashion, but I like to pretend I do sometimes (... at least in my head).  This is my way of playing dress up and not spending any money!

It's just a small bunch of people submitting outfits based on a certain clothing item chosen ahead of time.   It's all in the name of fun.  And it really is fun!

When I check on Danica, most nights I find her like this.

She's typically curled up on her side with her hands by her face.  I think it's cute that she's holding her blankets, which practically never stay on her.  She's turned so that her head is where her feet used to be.

1, 2, 3, 4...

1.  The outfits are up for voting on my fashion blog.  Go ahead and visit HERE.

2.  I just watched Julie and Julia...cute movie... and now I want to cook more new recipes and own a pearl necklace.

3. Danica turns 6 months old on Tuesday.  Car-razy!

4.  ALSO, a couple of us are getting together this Thursday evening at 4:00 to make bows and flowers for headbands/hair.  You're invited, so if you'd like to join in, let me know.  It'll be fun!

We were thinking that each person could bring their own supplies, and if you feel like it (no obligations though) we could trade or share.
These would be the basic supplies you'd want to bring:
*artificial flowers (I buy mine at the Dollar Store or Honks, but you can buy them at any craft store)
*hair clips (there are many kinds you can use.  I use THESE and you can buy 100 for $5 at Sally's.  They also have smaller packages though.)
*ribbon... if you want to make bows.
*ribbon... if you want to cover your clips.  (I cover my clips with ribbon that is 1/2" and I believe it takes about 8 or 9 inches to cover the inside and outside of each clip)
*If you want to bring decorative embellishments... like jewels or buttons
*Another option is felt.  You can make some cute flowers out of that.
*If you have a glue gun, you can bring that as well.

 FOOD
Danica had her first taste of baby food (besides rice cereal) on Sunday. It was peas!  Both Tyler and I don't like peas, but it's hard to tell if Danica feels the same way. 
I think it was just a different experience for her.

 FREE TIME (What is that?)
My sister Eileen is pregnant with her first baby (a girl!!) and I've been planning her baby shower.  So that's basically just what I've been working on in my free time.

But as soon as that's done, I'm going to be making another one of these (or more) for my sister Anna.

And maybe taking a ride on this!

Fashion Face-off Challenge

Ok this may be the über nerd in me, but I've decided to start a challenge.  Let me know if you're even interested.
(Don't know how often I'll do it yet...maybe every other week... but I thought it would be fun.)

Here are the rules:
Every other Sunday, I (or the winner of the previous month) will post a picture of a fashion item. It might be a bag, or a dress, or jewelery...etc.

To participate, all you need do is create an outfit based on that fashion item. You might create it out of photos you've taken of your own wardrobe, or a celebrities, or easier still, find pictures on google or Polyvore (super easy!) and paste them together!
(I paste them together in paint and save it as a picture)


You'll have a week to get your outfit emailed to me.

(so it's anonymous and easier to see them all)

So then...

At the end of the week, you will be able to vote on them and choose who you think created the best outfit!
