I know what you should get for Christmas

One of these babies:

I love ours.  I don't remember if we got it as a wedding gift or not, but we've had it for a while now.  It preheats in just a couple minutes, cooks in just a couple minutes and you can make two sandwiches at a time in it!  The sandwich edges are sealed closed (forming a pocket like center) so you can put all sorts of things inside.
For the last month or so, I've, unhealthily, been using it almost every day for lunch.... making grilled cheese pizzas, grilled turkey and tomato sandwichs, I've even grilled pineapple on it for a grilled ham and cheese with grilled pineapple sandwich... so good!  Next I'm going to try a banana and peanut butter sandwich.
I'm sure there are nicer/fancier machines that if you wanted to do more things with would be better for you.  Just an idea.

For those of you who already use something like this, what are your favorite recipes or ideas of recipes?

  1. my friend had one of those, and I swear there were days when we were little when we'd use up an entire loaf of bread making all sorts of combinations!

    some of my faves:
    -mozarella, pepperoni, pizza sauce
-mozarella, spinach, chicken, and alfredo sauce
-nutella and bananas or strawberries..if you have never had nutella, go to the store RIGHT NOW and get some, it's amazing!

    The possibilities are endless!

  2. I so used to have one of these! I loved it! Tim made me get rid of it because, uh, well I never cleaned it. LOL But it sure made great sandwiches! I miss it!

  3. We got one similar to this for our wedding and we still haven't used it! I guess I just don't know where to start. I always do grilled cheese on the stove on a skillet but to hear you rave about this little contraption makes me want to actually try it.

  5. I don't even like bananas, but a banana and peanut butter sandwich sounds like heaven right now.
